How to Edit and Fix a Corrupted Computer Registry
DEFINITION OF THE REGISTRY
The computer registry is one of the most important elements of the
computer. It is the database used by the operating system
(Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium, Windows
XP, Windows Vista, or later) to keep track of all the pc settings
and programs. By changing the registry, you can basically modify

reasons why the registry gets damaged.

by editing it.
HOW TO FIX OR EDIT A FAULTY COMPUTER REGISTRY
Although not recommended, you can manually edit your computer
register. Keep in mind that if not done properly, changing the
registry manually could potentially harm your system and in some
cases might require you to reformat your whole hard drive. Do so at
your own risk.
For Windows XP:
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Run
3. Type regedit
4. This will bring the Windows Registry Editor
For Windows Vista:
1. Click on the Windows Vista Start button
2. Type regedit in the search field below All

3. The Windows Registry Editor will come up
